Make a Donation or Help Raise Money
The Motivation: 1 billion people worldwide have no access to safe drinking water
The Chembe Water Project is located at Gecko Lounge, Cape Maclear

ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR

Money has been raised for the first phase, which has been completed in only 6 months. This now provides approximately 2000 of the 12000 people with safe water. Using state-of-the-art technology, water has been pumped from 150m out in the lake and treated with ultraviolet light. This safe water is then delivered through 7 standpipes into the village. This has all been achieved for less than $8,000.

OUR FINANCIAL STRUCTURE

We have been able to minimize costs by guaranteeing that money donated is used effectively and directly without government or other agencies. Contacts for donations to The Chembe Water Project will be found on this website. Please help us to continue our work as we still have a great deal to achieve.

OUR NEXT TASKS

We intend, within months, to extend the present provision of 7 standpipes to 14. This is well within the capacity of the present unit and the people of the village are asking for this urgently. Remember that children are still becoming sick and dying from water-bourn diseases in other parts of the village. This will then provide a supply for almost half of this large village. We then need to install a further unit for the rest of the village and the large primary school.
